![]() Twenty super hard and super slick delrin roller bearings per wheel provide smooth rolling. Roller bearings give low-friction wheeling. Air pressure can be changed to accommodate the conditions. Can you suggest a longer axle bar that is compatible with the other parts of the CAT TRAX system? I can't seem to find any reliable information on this front. The Cat Trax feature strong aluminum wheel rims with two-ply pneumatic rubber tires that disperse weight and do not dig in. The little roll pins inside the wheels, and the covering mechanism that keeps the roll pins flush to the axle, all seem to work on a very specific axle diameter. The problem is, the CAT TRAX seem engineered to that exact diameter of smooth, aluminum axle. These are pretty standard size anodized aluminum tubes, its just much easier to. In short: I apologize for my hasty characterization of the multi-hull forum.Īnd thanks for your suggested solution. The aluminum tubes on the U.S built Cat Trax are an even 2 O.D, 1/16 wall. But if you say that the multi-hull forum is indeed filled w/ small CAT wet boat sailors, I'll check in more frequently. The next thing that seems odd is the dimension between the wheels. This may account for the tire/cradle interference as they drill at standard dimensions from the end of the axle to get the proper cotter pin separation for the wheel. I've got nothing against people who prefer yachting to wet boat sailing, but there's just not much common ground for discussion between a yachter who keeps his boat in a slip vs a small wet boat sailor who keeps his boat on a hand dolly. The axle is 93.5' (7 9') in length which is very odd as FS only sells them in nominal 7 or 8 ft. Maybe I caught the forum during a non-typical month. The subjects seem to be primarily about big yachting catamarans. A Class Sailor - my comment was based on having looked at the first page of the forum over the course of several weeks about a month or so ago.
